The Cluster was founded for achieving objectives in the field of rural and eco-tourism development in Timok region and Serbia.
The Founders of the Cluster are:
- Regional center for SME development Timok, Zajecar
- RARIS - Regional Development Agency Eastern Serbia
- Tourism organisation Boljevac
- Etno Association “Izvor” Knjaževac
- Women's Association of village Grljan
The Cluster objectives are:
- Assistance to members of associations in the field of rural tourism
- Development of rural tourism on the territory of Timok regiona and Serbia
- Education of citizens on the importance of rural and eco-tourism development
- Consultative activities with all the subjects for the development of rural tourism
- Advocacy for the development of rural tourism.
Mayor Activities of the Cluster are:
- Facilitated regional rural tourism cooperation and promotion in Eastern Serbia
- Enabling cross – border cooperation with partners neighbouring countries including development of cross-border tourist products
- Support Cluster members in preparation of tourism offer, promotion, market connection, stuff education.
- Support the establishment of institutional framework for planning, organizing, coordinating and improving rural tourism
- Public advocacy for the development of rural tourism.
- Organise join promotions of Cluster members on tourism fairs and other promotional events
- Comprehensive training program aimed at building the capacity of service providers in rural tourism through cooperation with "Carpathian Development Institute" from Kosice (Slovakia).
- Organise a study trip for its members to Slovakia with examples of good practices of rural tourism development in 2012
- Led the project "Increasing competitiveness of rural tourism in eastern Serbia" funded by the National Agency for Regional Development - NARD
- Presented rural tourist offer of Eastern Serbia to Serbian Diaspora in Vienna in March 2015, funded by the National office for Diaspora
- Led the project "Development of tourist product ‘’The Magic of the East" funded by National Agency for Regional Development – NARD, 2015 - 2016
- Organised promotional study tour for 16 Bulgarian tour-operators during the Summer 2015 in cooperation with RARIS and ABTTA (Association of Bulgarian tour operators)
